Dear Friend!
For the past 2 years, I’ve been an active participant of Alternative Breaks, a service-learning trip designed to promote active citizenship. I had no idea that the Native Woman shelter of Montreal and Camp heartland of Minnesota would change my initial intention of just getting involved on campus to a passion of helping and giving back to the community. I’ve been given the amazing opportunity to be a participant in the Global Community Engagement where I will spend my spring break giving back to the disadvantaged children of Dominican Republic by providing them with basic necessities, education and most importantly love and support.
My past alternative breaks trips has made such an impact on my life, therefore I’m very excited to be working with an amazing group of dedicated and motivated people. We all share the same passion of service and can’t wait to make an impact of these children’s lives. But in order to bring this project to live, we need to raise over $11,000. Therefore I’m reaching out to generous people like you, to help me reach my goal. Whether it is a penny or $10, any generous donation will be greatly appreciated. If you make a donation, you will be receiving a letter from GCE recognizing your donation as we are tax exempt. And most importantly, thank you for helping such a great cause!
