Alternative Spring Break
Every year during spring break, Global Community Engagement sponsors projects for middle, high school, and college students in Santiago, Dominican Republic. Consider trading in your spring break for a truly meaningful experience working with underprivileged children in a developing nation. You’ll teach reading, math, art, photography and things like papermaking and basic computer literacy to young children who otherwise have few educational opportunities. Community & Professional Projects
Looking for an opportunity to use your professional skills to accomplish a meaningful humanitarian goal? Would you like to bring your legal, medical, educational or other talents to help underprivileged children? Perhaps you want to involve your church, school or other community group in a service project? Institute for Global Leadership
Are you interested in gaining the skills needed to really make a difference in the world? Apply to GCE’s Institute for Global Leadership. We’ll train you in how to create your own organization for helping others. Through practical applications of leadership skills you’ll learn how to set goals, manage a group of people to accomplish those goals, how to fundraise, and create a sustainable project that provides continuity for those you’re trying to help. Once accepted to the Institute you can expect to spend approximately 10-20 hours a week for six or more months preparing a real project that you will lead and undertake in the Dominican Republic working with underprivileged children.  Click here to learn more and apply!
