My name is Samantha DuBarry, and for the second year, I will be participating in a project developed to aid disadvantaged children in the community of Santiago, Dominican Republic as a member of Global Community Engagement. Global Community Engagement (GCE) is a non-profit organization that works with both Dominican and Haitian children living in Santiago who are less fortunate and struggle with poverty, low resources, working on the streets, homelessness, and lack of educational opportunities or parental support. Our main goal is to provide these children with school supplies, clothing, hygiene items, and to also develop lesson plans and activities to provide for these children. Most importantly, we empower them with love and support, because these children are truly amazing and inspirational.

I am truly passionate about helping these children and this Spring Break a group of college students from Florida International University and I will be traveling to Santiago to help these wonderful little superstars. This is a project that has been growing for the past twelve years, and will continue to grow for many more years ahead. You too can become a part of this project in helping out these children. Our mission is to raise over $11,000 for these children, a goal that without your help would not be feasible. Please help make a difference in these children's lives with a donation; it can truly go a long way in helping us reach our goal. Mi nombre es Samantha DuBarry, y por segundo año consecutivo, estaré participando en un proyecto desarrollado para ayudar a los niños desventajados en la comunidad de Santiago, República Dominicana como una miembra de Global Community Engagement. Global Community Engagement (GCE) es una organización sin fines de lucro que trabaja con los niños dominicanos y haitianos que viven en Santiago y que son menos afortunados. Estos niños luchan contra la pobreza, trabajan en las calles, sin hogares, y de falta de oportunidades educativos o apoyo de los padres . Nuestro objetivo principal es proporcionar a estos niños con útiles escolares, ropa, artículos de higiene, y también desarrollar planes de lecciones y actividades para ayudar a estos niños. Lo más importante es empoderarlos con el amor y el apoyo que se merecen, porque estos niños son realmente increibles y nos inpiran.

Estoy realmente apasionada por ayudar a estos niños, y esta primavera un grupo de estudiantes universitarios de Florida International University y yo viajaremos a Sanitago para ayudarlos. Este es un proyecto que ha ido creciendo por los últimos doce años, y seguirá creciendo por muchos años mas. Usted también puede ser parte de este proyecto y ayudar a estos niños.
