Dear Friend,
Over the past few years at FIU I have become involved in many service projects with many outstanding results. However, I have never experienced anything like my involvement with Global Community Engagement. Being one of the student founders of GCE at FIU I have had firsthand experience in aiding disadvantaged children in Santiago, Dominican Republic. We work to formulate lesson plans, buy school supplies, clothes, and hygiene items. Through this organization I feel that I have grown exponentially as a person as well as having made a difference in the world.
This project has become my passion here at FIU. It has made me see what is truly important in life, helping others. I go around telling all of my friends about my experience in the Dominican Republic and they instantly feel inspired to help. This is YOUR chance to make a difference in the world as well. We are faced with a formidable budget of over $11,000. Any donation would make an imprint on this budget. Please, whether it is $5 or $50, it would be for a wonderful cause.
