My family and friends,
I’ve been granted an awesome opportunity to take my spring break and donate my time to the children of Santiago, Dominican Republic through Global Community Engagement (GCE). GCE has been established for twelve years, allowing us college students the opportunity to impact lives outside of the American boundaries and experience the lives of those not so privileged as ourselves. There we will be working with disadvantaged children, most without homes or education. The majority of them have no parental support and no family to turn to but brothers and sisters they struggle to care for. GCE develops educational programs and provides clothing, school and hygiene supplies to help alleviate their circumstances.
My participation in this project is driven by the desire to instill hope. This hope lifts hearts to look forward to brighter days and the hope that inspires us who have the faculty to display our faith in the capacity of giving. I’m asking you, friends and family for your support. This project takes over $11,000 to operate. Whether you give $7 or $75, any donation will shave this budget. If you decide to make a donation you will receive a letter from GCE recognizing your contribution as we are tax exempt. Please donate what you can toward this cause as we aim to impact the lives of children. Thank you.
