Dancing for Kids 2009
Mayor Randy Henderson and Telemundo's Carlos Briceno win The Audience Award at the 2009 Dancing for Kids event!
Presented by Telemundo's Martin Ycaza and Univision's Jackie Figueroa and with more than
100 people turning out to watch some of our best local dancers perform, our first 'Dancing for Kids' event was a great success. Of particular note were performances by two of the Latin Rhythm Clubs from Cape Coral High School and Ida Baker High School and local child performer Melanie Seif. Gerri Reaves and Paulo Rebolo took home the Judge's Award with a fantastic rumba routine. The audience was split when it came time to choose a winner; both Carlos Bricen~o and Amy Acker's swing performance and Randy Henderson and Lucia Soria's bachata routine wowed the crowd. In the end, we decided that a choice couldn't be made and both couples won Audience Favorite awards.
