This year promises to be a very special year for me and my peers as we engage on a mission to collect enough funds to help disadvantaged children in Dominican Republic through a program called Global Community Engagement (GCE). Although I have done my share of international volunteering in the past, this will be the first time I will get to interact with kids who, unlike many of us, were born to very difficult conditions and who have very limited resources, if any, to live a happy life. I have committed to make service a substantial part of my life, and I really hope to turn this opportunity into one where I can selflessly give back to those who weren't born with the luxuries that many of us have grown accustomed to. Through GCE we develop educational programs to take to the children as well as the donation of school supplies clothes, and hygiene items.
This project will make a whole difference for these children, and having a positive impact in their lives is the mission that I have set myself from now until the moment I'm returning from Dominican Republic from what promises to be a life changing trip, for these kids as well as for me. You can help me make this dream come a reality. A dream like this has a sentimental as well as a great financial value. Our objective is to raise a budget over a $11,000 to make this happen. This is the opportunity where you can also help these children, and support GCE in their mission. Any donation would make a significant difference on this project. Whether you can give $100, or even just a spare dollar, it will all still go a very humble end. In addition to this, if you make a donation, you will be receiving a letter from GCE recognizing your donation as we are tax exempt. Please help us make this dream a reality.

Este año promete ser uno muy especial para mí y mis compañeros, pues nos hemos dado la misión de recoger fondos para ayudar a un grupo de niños pobres en República Dominicana a través de un programa llamado Global Community Engagement (GCE). Aunque en el pasado ya haya participado en actividades de voluntariado internacional, esta será la primera vez que tenga la oportunidad de hacerlo con un grupo de niños que, a diferencia de muchos de nosotros, nacieron en condiciones difíciles con recursos muy limitados, si alguno, para poder lograr vivir una vida feliz. Me he comprometido en volver el servicio a la comunidad una parte substancial de mi vida, y espero convertir esta oportunidad en una donde podre humildemente ayudar a aquellos que no nacieron con los lujos a los cuales muchos de nosotros no hemos acostumbrado. A través de GCE, desarrollamos programas educativos para estos niños, así como coordinar la donación de herramientas escolares, ropa, y accesorios para la higiene.
Este proyecto hará toda un gran diferencia para estos niños, y yo me he comprometido de ahora, hasta el momento en el que este regresando de República Dominicana de lo que promete ser un viaje inolvidable, de tener un impacto positivo en sus vidas y en la mía también. Tú me puedes ayudar a volver este sueño una realidad. Un sueno como este tiene un gran valor sentimental, pero también financiero. Nuestro objetivo es de subir más de 11,000 dólares para poder lograr esto. Esta es la oportunidad en la cual tu también podrás ayudar estos niños, apoyar a GCE en su misión.
